Congratulations to Mr. J!

Congratulations to Mr. Darren Josephison who has been nominated for the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Teaching. The following is an excerpt from the nomination: 

“Mr. Josephison is an excellent teacher. He has taught all 4 of my children and made a huge difference in their lives.  He’s funny but tolerates zero nonsense.  He’s dedicated to students in the classroom and out and puts incredible hours outside the classroom to work with students. He has organized several European war memorial trips and works tirelessly towards student understanding of soldier sacrifice. One only has to see the Yearly Remembrance Day ceremonies to understand the impact this amazing teacher has had on our school culture.”

Each year, Canada's History Society recognizes 6 teachers for innovation, enthusiasm and best practices in teaching Canadian history.
