Riverwatch

On June 5th, the grade 8 classes went on a trip to the North Saskatchewan River. The award-winning RiverWatch Science Program transports students in large, inflatable rafts to study water quality along a section of the North Saskatchewan River. The rafts are floating laboratories with science kits to sample water chemistry and collect aquatic insects. The focus of this field study is to determine the environmental health of the North Saskatchewan River by comparing water conditions above and below the EPCOR Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mrs. Wheeler, Mrs. Hykawy and Mr. McLean would like to thank our awesome parent volunteers who attended this trip along with us, Nancy Giles, Ken Kustiak and Leanne Dillon.
