H.U.G.S for the Homeless (hats, underwear, gloves and socks)
Red Deer Catholic Social Services’ St. Zita Centre and St. Augustine School are teaming up to collect NEW underwear and socks for the Safe Harbour House in Red Deer. The Safe Harbour House helps those in crisis due to homelessness, addiction or other circumstances in Central Alberta by providing programs and resources. The grade 4 Roots of Empathy classes and SALT and LITE youth groups are helping to promote this event and ALL St. Augustine Students are invited to participate! The Goodwill Cup will be a great time to donate as students can gain admission by donating funds or undergarments (HUGS- Hats, Underwear, Gloves and Socks). Safe Harbour House is really in need of GLOVES and Hats (toques)! As a school community we are excited to teach our students about empathy and social justice as we help those in need!
